For me, one of the joys of watercolour painting lies in keeping the balance between spontaneity and control, light and shade, soft and hard, transparency and opacity along with any other contrasts you can think of. Other aspects I enjoy exploiting are the qualities of the pigments: staining, lifting, granulation and so on and I relish the chance to share my enthusiasm for paint through tuition.
My courses are designed to strengthen your approach to working with watercolours. Aspects covered include drawing, chosing a subject, gathering information, refining composition, exploiting colour and the techniques of handling paint, mixing colour and balancing tone. I hope you will join in!
